CLI reference

The gitspace client connects a computer to an existing account. Create and recover accounts at gitspace.sh. Manage projects, workspaces, agents, and releases in the web app.
Cloud-only use does not require this client.

Machine

CommandPurpose
gitspace machine setup --pair <token>Pair through browser approval, download the verified runtime, and start it.
gitspace machine setup --pair <token> --label <label>Pair with a custom machine name.
gitspace machine startStart the installed account-managed runtime, or finish its initial download if setup was interrupted.
gitspace machine stopAsk the local runtime to stop. It does not force-kill a process that takes too long.
gitspace machine statusShow the local process, separate relay-service and machine-tunnel probes, account URL, and log path.
gitspace machine removeStop and revoke this computer, retaining its local workspace files and runtime installation.
Generate the pairing token in Settings > Machines > Add a computer. It expires after ten minutes. Confirm the machine name and signing key in that browser before approving it.
Local identity and runtime state live under ~/.config/gitspace/. The daemon log is ~/.config/gitspace/machine.log. The local identity contains machine keys, not the account root recovery key.

Browser

CommandPurpose
gitspace openOpen the linked account URL in a browser.
gitspace open --printPrint that account URL.
These commands do not create browser invitations. Use Account > Connections > Browsers > Connect another browser in a connected browser, or fill in Use your recovery key on your account page. See Connect machines and browsers.

Diagnostics

CommandPurpose
gitspace doctorCheck machine enrollment, installed runtime components, Git/OpenSSH tools, and account connectivity.
gitspace --helpShow the command tree.
gitspace --versionShow the installed client version.
Git and the OpenSSH client are system prerequisites. Bun, OMP, and walgit come with the prebuilt runtime. A source checkout and local build tools are not required.

Software releases

The account release system manages Worker, frontend, machine, and OMP versions. The local client has no account login, logout, or standalone update command. Pair a computer through the browser and use the account release controls for runtime changes.
